These units are '67 GM midsize (Cutlass, Chevelle, Skylark, Tempest) pieces. I bought quite a few over the years back when before the uptick in muscle car interest. Nowadays you compete with the GTO etc. crowd. I don't remember paying more than $35 for any of them, but they now go for about $150. Finding them with good, tight tilt mechanisms, and signal switch gear is a little tougher. If you have to spend any time/ money rebuilding them then it's back to that special tool and hassle you guys talked about earlier. Then to get them smooth looking they have to be modified to slip into the 2 1/2" dia. length of exhaust tubing with the column drop welded on as shown. '70's GM pickup and van columns are a comparable look alternative and don't need the tubing to clean up the lower column, but these have also been "discovered" so their prices are up and you still have to look to find one that's not too sloppy in the tilt mechanism as well as usually shorten the steering shaft.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
