Thread: Turbo 350 Shifts

The transmission is not hooked up to a ported vacuum fitting. It goes to the hole drilled in one of the runners behind the carb. The transmission is working somewhat better now, the shift points are higher. I disconnected the vacuum advance because it was adding 10 degrees of vacuum at idle and when I stepped on the gas, it would retard the 10 degrees and I had a horrible hesitation. It was like someone was holding the brake down. That also seemed to improve the transmission slightly. After driving 90 miles to school, it improved more still. It used to go into 3rd at 25 and it has actually held 1st until 35 mph. With my 3.07 rear gear, I should be able to run first over 50 mph.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
