Torque converter for a 383?
I just purchased a 383 stroker for my 39 chevy master deluxe.
I need to know what kind of torque converter i need to match up with a 350 turbo? I don't want to tear down the motor to find out what cam is in it, since it only has 3000 miles on the rebuild and I can't get in touch with the guy that put this thing together. It has a 750 holley carb, Edlebrock performer intake, I removed the valve covers and it has double springs. (no rollers) and i looked in the spark plug hole and it has High dome pistons. also double hump 350 horse chevy heads. The guy I bought the motor off of said the cam was pretty radical..? I'm only using the car for a week-end cruiser and some car shows. Can anybody tell me what for stall I would need without tearing this thing apart?

if its got good power off the line and you like the way its idles sitting at a stop light leave it alone. "for cruising and some car shows" the less conv. the better.
ps i just realized that you have never heard the motor run. somebody might can tell you how to find out by check the valves.
