    Torque Converter bolt size question

Bolted a TH350 trans up to a 350 Chevy engine...No problem. When I went to bolt the flywheel to the torque converter, the bolts were too big. I checked the bolts, they were the right size. What gives??? Did Chevy make a TH350 torque converter that took metric bolts??? Anyone got any input on this...

S-10's are metric. But this engine and trans came out of an 80's full size Chevy pick up. Is there a possibility that this trans is a TH200 and the oil pan was swapped? The TH200 is metric

weren't the bolts from the tranny to the block metric? They were on the 80's cars. I have a 350 attached to buick v6 .83's. Bolts in head to lift motor were 10mm. 3/8 goes in but is actually a bit loose.

Got stories? Got video? I’m trying to compile tales from the Garage. A friend of mine once said, “If my wife knew how much I spent on this engine, she’d either divorce me or demand the same amount for a shopping spree.” And then the engine blew up. There are other stories, funny, tragic, spiritual about life out in the garage. Do you have one? Could be anything from putting the door handle on backwards to hearing the car beep one night to warn of danger. Would you send it to me? If I use it, I could film you telling the tale. Please email me at storywriter@strictlyfifties.com.

I had to bore out my flexplate bolt holes for the torque converter I have, the bolts fit right in there after that.

    Problem solved.

Three times I went to Twilight Zone (Auto Zone) and asked for bolts for a TH350 torque converter. The first time he gave me 10 MM X 1 1/4 inch long bolts. The second time he gave me 10 MM X 1 inch. The third time I demanded he give me 3/8 X 3/4 inch long bolts, he gave me 10 MM 3/4 inch....
This was the same guy that told me that Chevy never made a 327, Corvette did...

I went to Home Depot and picked out my own 3/8 X 3/4 inch.

    Problem solved.

Now I need a new starter....where's my Tylenol.
