Yep, read what I just posted to Muteboys question "dumb trans question." These guys can build you any trans you want, and the shipping is only about $ 150 to $ 200 depending on where you are from North Carolina.

What impressed me at first was the ebay rating, 100% after 2100 transactions. That is unheard of. I've spoken to them on the phone, and they are nice people, too.

    Don

you are looking for a 400 trans? if so you will need the supper sprag this is made by coan and that is what i would use . this supper sprag i have in my gto after breaking the heavy duty type. this was about $800. for it .so a trans that will take 1000 hp will cost a bit . vasco jet input shaft and front drum.supper sprag. rev valve body .and a stall with a steel stator

Driver - I don't know whether you would want to go this route or not, or even whether it would be wise to do so, but there is an older gentleman that lives fairly close to me - I'm north of Fort Worth - who is considered to be very knowledgeable and probably the best in our area. He is retired from General Motors and has 30+ years of transmission experience with them.

He has a really clean and well equipped shop at his home in the town of Haslet.

He doesn't advertise and gets his business from referrals. He did some work on our daughter's Cavalier and completely rebuilt my TH 400. He knows what he's doing.

He did send my converter out to another guy.

The thing is, I don't know whether he has done transmissions for extreme applications like yours or not, he possibly has. Or, in fact, he may not even want to. Don't know, but if he did he'd probably want his customer to provide whatever special components would be necessary for hard racing.

If you think you would like to talk to him, send me a PM and I'll give you his name and phone number. He's a nice guy, and it may not even be a long distance call for you. Not sure.

    Good luck with it,

    Jim
