ok im replacing mine with an older one and i have 2 issues,
1 the shifter linkage thing on the side of the trans broke off of the new trans how can i either replace it or just fix it?
and the new trans has a speedometer cable and the old one has a speedometer sensor can i just switch the stuff on the tailshaft or is there more involved?

You would probably get more results if you would tell us the year models of the trannys you are talking about. The 700r went through a bunch of changes over the years and you will make your life a lot easier if you stay with the same year model. The later models 1988+ have all the updates on them and work the best however, we need to know the year model of the vehicle you are putting it in. I'm not a tranny expert by any means but you need to be more specific for these guys to help you.

the trans im putting in is out of an 88 s10 and the trans i took out is a 92 1500
