Transmission interchange.
I am looking at installing a 1995 518 tranny behind a 1973 413 cu. in. Chrsy. It currently has a 727 tranny and I am wondering if the bolt patter at the bell housing is the same for the two transmissions. I realize that I would have to get the torque converter balanced to match my current one. Thanks.Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.

I bought a 518 (46RH) transmission today which came out of 1995 dodge pickup which had a 5.9/360 cu in motor in it. I am wondering if a 361 and a 360 have the same block or not. I need a tranny that will bolt up to a 413 c.i. Does anyone know if this is doable? I don't want to pull the tranny just to find out it isn't. Tomorrow I will drive around to tranny shops till I find a 727 and then I will see if the bolt patterns are the same.Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.

413 is a big block, and the 360 is a Small Block. I think the bell housings are diffrent between big and small block Mopars, but I'm not shure. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

I don't know the answer to your question, but are you sure about this...

Well........., I got my money back. Dodge hasn't made big blocks since the 70's. Even the Viper V-10 is only a small block configuration with two extra cylinders.Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.
