400 turbo trans
I have a 400 tb behind my bb chev. D'ont drive it much, but it seems to
be a good trans. Have a cooler mounted on side rail frame. Someone
told me that these trans's have a tendency to over heat. Is this true?

I ran a turbo 400 with a BBC and I used a shift kit along with a large tranny cooler. I never experienced any issues. I am now building a 30 Model A roadster which will be running a BBC and a turbo 400. It is a professionally built tranny and I will be running an external finned long cooler along with a tranny cooler which is fan activated. Hopefully I will not encounter any overheating issues.

I got one in my 34 and have never had a heating problem. At least not so far.

I got one with a 2600 stall and a cooler never had any overheating issues also with a BBC

I wouldn't say this is a real good idea. The cooler isn't getting any air unless the vehicle is moving. Even when moving, the cooler isn't exactly in the air stream. I had a buddy that mounted his on the frame and cooked his C4.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

I Worry About This. But I Have A 4500 Stall In My One Car On The Bottom Of The Floor Pan Brace .and In The Front Inner Wheel Well And A 3800 Stall In The Other No Fried Trans
