350 automatic trans leaking
I been trying to find this leak. The trans leaks when car sits period time. Just change pan gasket. Had it up in air looking. The converter seems to draining back. It's leaking a good three quarts. It also was built two years ago. The car is in storage they just called said made mess on floor again.

Without seeing the leak, I'm gonna stick my neck on the chopping block and direct you to the dipstick seal (o-ring style or sleeve style) where it slides into the case. Shift shaft seals and speedo seals do the same. Level of the fluid goes up upon shut down because of converter drainback. Typical place to start to look. Once in a while you'll see the front seal do this, but not too frequently.

My Jeep truck sits a lot now, and the rear seal begins to leak after I park it for about a week. It is fine as long as I am using it pretty regularly, but once it is parked it starts, and gets worse and worse until I add some fluid and drive it again, then it stops for a while.
I'm waiting until I freshen up the engine and put in another AOD I have waiting to go in there, so I just let it leak and add more for now.
See where yours is leaking by putting those oil absorbent pads you can buy at any marine store, for about a buck each. Put a few under there and see where it is hitting the pads.

Yeah, my powersteering reservour has the same "automatic changing" feature too. Guess it's time to pull some maintenance on the darned thing, huh.

Thanks everyone. I stop by and the trans leaking from driver side above . Weather breaks have to check shift linkage. Hard to beleive that much fluid comes out.
