    TH 350 question

When my TH 350 trans is cold it shifts great, when it gets hot the 1-2 shift seems ok but the 2-3 shift is way late...if I get it up to around 50mph and feather the throttle then it will slide into high. Once it gets into 3 it seems normal. Any thoughts about what I might do? I thought about the governor and that might be it. No leaks or any other problems. Thanks, Karl.

Thanks for the reply... just for the record this condition has come about of a sudden, after abusing the trans by kicking down into passing gear at high speed the problem occurred.. didn't have this shifting problem in the last 15K miles. Maybe I did something bad to the tranny?

Clutch material around the direct clutch lip seal is so common on these things It's really prevelant when it warms up. If 3rd really gets bad in a while with the weather getting warmer, be ready to tear down and reseal internals and inspect clutches and steels.

Also check to see if you have developed a vaccum leak in the line going to your modulator (or if it slipped off). That will make it slip and shift late...

Good point, I will check it...the trans seems to be getting better on it's own... hope I didn't damage it too much. Karl.
