tranny dipstick
Making progress on the headers! I got the driver side mounted up and ready to go! Started on the passenger side, pulled the starter and the solinoid wires fell apart in my hand . The previous owner had installed the turbo 350 transmission and he ran the cooler lines along side the motor instead of along the frame, I was able to unbolt the cooler itself and bend the lines enough to make room for the header but the tranny dipstick is still in the way. I unbolted the clamp that holds it in place but i'm not sure how the tranny dipstick comes out of the tranny. Does it slide out like the oil dipstick in the block or is bolted on the inside? Thought I should ask before I just start wailing on it (it started raining anyways ).
Also, before I unbolted the cooler itself, I tried unbolting the lines at the tranny. It looks like there are two bolts? The big one is threaded into the tranny and the hard line threads into that? I tried getting them out but all I succeded in doing was bending the line so I stopped wrenching on it. Am I supposed to hold one still while I turn the other? I'm thinking it might be easier to just buy some good flex line and run new cooler lines along the frame. What do you guys think? Thanks.Wings and Skirts belong on Fairies, NOT CARS!
