tranny leak, strange place
i have a gmc pickup with a 350 and th350. I recently had a new transmission put in and it started leaking fluid out of the slip yolk. I took it back and they said they fixed it but low and behold it wasnt. I have noticed a great deal of power being lost the more I drive it. My buddy told me that it could be pump or torque converter. Any answers??Last edited by kdogmcool; 06-04-2007 at 01:42 PM.

Out the back of the slip yoke or around the tranny seal and slip yoke? If it's the former, 9 times out of 10 that's an indication of the tailshaft bushing needing replaced. You might also check for excessive wear on your slip yoke as well. Sometimes the tranny seal will wear a "ring" into the slip yoke. I'm not sure what to tell you about the power loss, but it's possible that you have lost more tranny fluid than you think. If you give the engine gas and the truck doesn't seem like it wants to move quickly or is somewhat unresponsive, like the engine just revs, even in gear, this is an indication of low fluid, at least it has been with my experience. Good luck.Last edited by 53fatfndr; 06-04-2007 at 02:05 PM.
