Stall speed Q
Son inlaws Nova, 383 , We get the idle adjusted nice,in neutral and then put in drive and it stalls. Turn the idle speed up 1500-1800 and can get it to idle at 800 in drive. Could this be caused by too low of a stall converter?
Thanks Ed

Could be results of a big cam or a vacuum leak. Post the specs on the cam and particulars on the build.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

More than likely its the converter-I just had to put a different converter in my 40 ford for the same reason. I went with a 2500 stall converter.www.adoptafriendforlife.org

Called Hughes. They say it Cam wants 3000 gearing wants 2500. It had a 24-2800 cheapie . When we told them about the idle the recomendation was to use the 3000.----- Its loose but it idles in gear nicely, it has lost its off idle hesitation. And now the next problem the posi gave up. You make one little change and that effects the next- it never stops
Thank you Roger. .
