If you are talking about the flexplate I believe they are the same. To my knowledge GM never put a flywheel on a 400sbc, they were all automatics.Ken Thomas

I checked into this at one time and I seem to remember that the eccentric weights were different on 454's than they were on 400's.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

All I can tell you is that a stock 454 flywheel will work on a 400sbc That is what I used when I had a 400sbc in a '62 pickup.Ken Thomas

any thing could work but the weight is not the same. if so then there would be one only part number for the 400 and 454 there is not. could it work maybe but i would not do itIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
