any sbc flywheel should work fine, just make sure it's not for a 400 engine. As far as which flywheel, depends on the size of clutch you'll be using....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Regular old standard shift bellhousing, flywheel and clutch setup for a 350 (or smaller) SBC will work. No adapters necessary.Jack

If the engine is original from the '89, you will need year specific flywheel with a weight on it. Two pieces rear main engine (85 and earlier) had a counter weight. The post 85 (86 on) had no counter weight thus requiring a weighted flywheel/flexplate. Easily found flywheels at salvage yards and dealer for your application. Do a little digging for the one you want for the size clutch you plan to run. What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?

The engine is still in the car with a 700R4 behind it and i was told since it has a one piece seal that i would need to get adapter for it to work with the old muncie thanks for the infoI just wonder what happened to GOVERNMENT of the people by the people for the people?

No adapters needed, just the right flywheel. One other note, most of the one piece type flywheels are going to require the starter nose with the off set to match. Your starter from the Caprice should suffice. What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?

Heh heh...No problem. I wasn't really correcting anything. Just some info for a lot of guys/gals who didn't realize the 86 and on small blocks had changed their set up.What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?
