what tranny
I've got a 1989 full size ford bronco that some thing would go wrong with every time I pulled it out of the garage, the last time was the transfer case. This was about 10 years ago, well I got so pissed that I let it sit. I just got a good deal on a transfer case that would fit it, so I bought it. I know the transfer case is a borg warner 1356/manual shift. The tranny is an automatic with overdrive. What is the tranny called? This way I can buy a new tranny filter and replace that while I'm changing all the other fluids. Thanks for the help.

I am pretty sure its an aod, those year broncos were terrible it had that electronic 4x4 that when you used it, it didn't want to shut off sometimes wouldn't work at all just flash a light at you. I feel your pain.like a volvo with gun racks.....

My transfer case is manual shift. Thank god it didn't have the electronic shift with all the other problems I've had with it, I don't need any more. Of course, that didn't help the last transfer case any, but I figure it was time to try again maybe my luck has change with it. The truck looks like it just came off of the show room floor and only has about 70,000 origanal miles on it. Of course we know why that is...it was always broke! I figure now at least if it breaks down on the side of the road, I have the best looking broke-down vehicle anyone has ever seen. hee hee hee!

Thanks! It's the most metal forming I've done. I was wishing I had an English wheel and a planishing hammer.
