    700r4 shift question

I need a good chevy trans guy for this one..I have a 41 willys with a 355/700r4. I bought a streetrod 700 from TPI transmissions and installed it about 5 years ago. In about 250 miles or so the speedo quit working as we were out of town. I drove home and checked it out. Found the drive gear had slipped off the metal tab clip and backed off tearing up the gears..everything else was fine. So I removed the extension housing, cleaned up the mess, replaced the gears and clips, dropped the pan and replaced the filter. The filter did one fine job of trapping all the schrapnel too I might add. back in business again. about 2 or 3 years later I noticed when the trans shifts at lower speeds, on the 2-3 shift only, It sort of feels like it shifts..but not fully..as you go a little faster it then fully shifts into 3rd..all other shifts are fine. At higher shifting rpm it is fine..NO it's not the TV pressure, and the fluid is perfect colored red. I removed the valve body and tried to check any valves that would be associated with a 2-3 shift and also checked the governor (which looked ok..valve free and weights not stuck) I can work with it, but it's not right and it's not burning fluid either. When TPI was around they said governor, but it looks ok and other shifts are fine. Nobody can seem to answer this for me and I've been in a lot of Ford transmissions, but not chevy's..so if you have a tip, pass it on if you would..thanks

sounds like shift timing 2-3 is a the one that originaly failed most 700s the band is coming off snd 3-4 clutches appling the servo is rhe 2-3 accumulator start with tv cable try slight ajustments Its easyest may not fix but good start then try different govenor .next valve body 2-3 accumulator valve and shift valve also do a line pressure test look for drop at 2-3 shift .

I hope he figured it out by now. Two months is a long time to wait to fix it.
What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?
