    700R4 Lokar Shifter Question

I currently have a TH350 in my Model A and I want to swap it out for a 700R4. I have a Lokar 23" shifter with the stainless knob that I bought for the TH350. Lokar sells the same shifter for the 700R4 but I don't really want to shell out another $200 for a new shifter on top of the cost of the transmission. Will my shifter work with the 700R4? Just looking at them the only difference you can see between them is the knob. The button on the 700R4 shifter will of course have P,R,N,D,3,2,1 where as the TH350 is lettered for different. My neutral safety switch is a Lokar that mounts on the transmission itself and not on the shifter so that won't be a problem. Does anybody have any info on this?

    700r4 shifter

the 700r4 shifter is about 1 inch longer on the back flange. i cut it off an added to the back bracket mine works just fine. the detents for the shifter are in the transmission so i can still shift 1,2,3,4. i have done it. the drive shaft will be 1 to 1 1/2 inches shorter and the trans mount is farther back to. jonathan

tidefan66, I where did you end up cutting the hole in that Model A? Is the front of the shifter hole lined up with the front door jams? I am installing one too.
