any bad things about tremec TKO's?

Has anybody had any (or know of any) bad experiences with a TremecTKOs? I'm thinking of putting one in my 70 Chevelle and would like any input available.

    Thank you.

The only bad experience you may have is pulling all those Franklins from your wallet.

I also have a TKO in a Cobra.

I do however have problems speed shifting. It's like the synchros take their good natured time lining up.

Maybe it just needs more time to wear in?

    Hi Darrin,
I have a short history lesson. I personally made the original conversion of the Tremec 3550 for the Mustang T-5 replacement into a GM bolt-in. I've sold thousands of these GM Tremecs. The GM mechanical clutch linkages work better than the Mustang cable linkage. Shifting problems are almost always clutch related.
Your Chevelle is a nice conversion. I stock the GM TKO if you need one.

I put a TKO in my 69 Chevelle. You have to be sure to align the bellhousing to the trans, that is very important. The floorboards will have to be cut out. But it shifts, and drives like a dream. It can be power shifted, but just not like the old Hurst shifted Muncies. With the TKO you push forward not towards the right headlight like we used to. No regrets here. Let me know if you have any questions I might be able to help with. Edd

    Hi Darren,
The TKO-600 is fair traded @ $2195.00. Tremec doesn't allow discounting so that's why the prices are all the same. I can deliver to your do a TKO-600 package to your door, tax free with reverse lite switch & pigtail, speedo drive & yoke for $2295.00.
I have them in stock and ready to ship. Call me Monday with any questions.
