any bad things about tremec TKO's?
Has anybody had any (or know of any) bad experiences with a TremecTKOs? I'm thinking of putting one in my 70 Chevelle and would like any input available.
Thank you.

The only bad experience you may have is pulling all those Franklins from your wallet.

Hello everyone,
Had a TKO500 in the Cobra, it's very smooth and very quite.

I also have a TKO in a Cobra.
I do however have problems speed shifting. It's like the synchros take their good natured time lining up.
Maybe it just needs more time to wear in?

Hi Darrin,
I have a short history lesson. I personally made the original conversion of the Tremec 3550 for the Mustang T-5 replacement into a GM bolt-in. I've sold thousands of these GM Tremecs. The GM mechanical clutch linkages work better than the Mustang cable linkage. Shifting problems are almost always clutch related.
Your Chevelle is a nice conversion. I stock the GM TKO if you need one.Mike Forte

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
