    Need Help

I dont know if this is the correct place to post this question but here it goes anyways.

If I sound like I dont know what I am talking about I probably dont!

I have recently purchased a early 80's SBC 350 that I want to build up. I have also purchased a 700r4 that I plan on putting behind the 350. When I purchased the 350 it didnt have a flex plate.....So my question is how do I know I am buying the correct flex plate that will work for both the transmission as well as the starter on the 700R4?

    Any Help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

    Hey Nate -

The key is the converter. There are two sizes 10.75 and 11.5. The flexplates fit just about any SB from 1967 - 1985.

Just make sure you have he correct converter size. Transmissions is a bolt up.

It is not possible as the size of the flex plate will fit properly.

most flexplates have two bolt patterns for the torque converter and are kind of universal. Just buy a neutrally balanced (for internally balanced engines) 168 tooth flexplate and the matching starter and your in busness...I've used that setup with a 400 turbo and a 700r4 behind a 350.

What year is the 350? Two piece rear main setup take a different flexplate than the one piece.
First half of the eighties were two piece. Last half, one piece.
What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?
