    BW 5sp

My wifes uncle needs to know What belhousing do you need to use a BW 5sp on a chevy early 80's 350. He knocked out the center of the clutch disk, he trimed the nose cone to fit it, but he didn't realize he hit the end of the splines on the input shaft by about 1/8"

Will one from a 4.3 from a Blazer work?

    Thanks Pat

Thanks, But I already built my own and I use a GM 4sp.

But do you know which belhousing for the 5sp to the 350?

What I was trying to say is he already had the T5 (I have never worked with a T5, every other tranny I have) in his truck (early '80"s chevy pick up) For several hundred miles and then the center of the disk broke outWhen he puts the tranny in, it runs out of splines on the input shaft, in the cluch about 1/8" before the tranny touch's the belhousing. He told me he had to cut the sleve back about 1/2" also.
I was told the Ford T5 (I told me it was a chevy tranny)was the same except for the shift loctation. (tail shaft housing)
Do you think he's got the wrong cluch disk?

If I'm understanding what you're trying to describe the pilot shaft is probably bottoming in the crank end. He'll need one of these; http://www.hamiltonintakes.com/produ...5-adapter.html
I don't know if Mike offers one, this is the only one I've ever seen.

No, the shafts are the same length as my 4sp, it's the splines on the shaft that were to far forward. I fixed it for him myself. Thanks!

If he sold such a thing (IF he does), (which is a copy of the Toyota fix) WHY? did he not say so, instead he tried to sell me a belhousing for my Hemi??? I don't need one. I made my own setup!

Just about every one of his posts he tries to sell something, usually something different than you ask info about!

    Hi Pat,
The Ford & GM T-5 are very different. Ford 10 spline, GM 26 spline. Don't use the GM V-6 14 spline. I do have a GM T-5 bellhousing if you need it.

The GM 14 spline will work if you use the clutch for a 1985 Astro van 4.3.

The only differance is the disk, he has the 14 spline T5, which he did use the '86 4.3 astro van 11" clutch disk.
I knew it needed to be spaced back, I didn't know if the belhousing was longer or not on the 4.3 for the tranny. I know the GM tranny's are the same bolt pattern. I just never put a T5 in anything different then stock.

Other than the spline teeth (Just use a different disk), and that the shifter is in a different location (Just switch the tail housing to move the shifter), the Mustang's tranny's interchange!

Hell, I have a GM pressure plate with a 11" disk that bolts up to my stock Hemi flywheel, and I have a GM tranny behind my Chrysler Hemi & a Ford 9" posi behind that.
