sticky hughes converter
I am just putting a 8 inch hughes converter in my powerglide. I have had a B&M converter in it and it slid in and out and once the tranny was bolted up it still had about 1/4 in. to spin free until I bolted it to the flexplate. i as going to replace it with the Hughes 8 in and put it in the tranny, made sure it went in the second notch and bolted it up. The converter will turn, but there is almost zero clearance between the converter and flexplate. Is this normal or should I pull it apart and reinstall
Thanks, Terry

If it was me I would pull it out and double check it. But I'm real anal about that kind of stuff.www.adoptafriendforlife.org

tight converter
figured it out. the converter was designed to have a mid motor plate, so I put in a plate, and I got the 1/4 inch required
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
