Tremec TKO bits & pieces
I am fitting a Tremec TKO 600RR (0.83 5th) to my 68 Iso Grifo 7 Liter. This is repalcing the 4-speed Muncie M-21 it currently has. I have 3.31 axle and tyre size is 225/70VR x 15. Can anyone tell me what speedo gear I will need in the Tremec (it is a mechanical-drive speedo)?
Also, where can I buy the McLeod - or is it Hurst now? - shifter that has a lower profile than the standard Tremec shifter? I believe there a number of different offset stubs you can get to alter shifter placement? Won't know what offset side to side and fore and aft until I get the two boxes side by side on the floor.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,
I have several parts the your Iso Grifo will need. The shifter requires machining of your tailshaft housing. Do you have the 31 spline strap yoke & GM to TKO speedo adapter?
I've sold many TKO's to Iso Grifo owners. Nice car....Mike Forte

Thanks, Mike.
I'll phone you sometime soon. I think the shifter you are referring to is the one especially for Corvettes that puts the lever exactly the same place? I already have my TKO so can't go that route very easily, I guess. I was thinking of the Pro5.0 shifter, which looks lower that the Temec one. I would then decide on the correct offset stub to get the lever where I want it. My car already has a Hurst aftermarket shifter on it, so the lever isn't in the stock position anyway.
Anyway, I'll talk to you about it. Glad you even know what a Grifo is, let alone like them!
Cheers,
Chris
Thank you Roger. .
