    manual shift VB

got the manual shift valve body for my thm350, In the instructions i remove the inter mediate servo piston assembly and discard. then plug the hole for the apply shaft. also i plug the 2nd gear accumulator passage.
Sounds like the band becomes a piece of flotsam, i am rebuilding the trans can i just leave the band out? I sure do not like the idea of it just rattling around in there.

You can leave the band out,but keep the servo shaft in,(you won't have any braking when you downshift without the band or piston). I've built several this way, without any problems, although you make want it in for street use.
