th350 rebuild
I'm doing a sbc conversion in my 85 Cj7. I got a 2 wheel drive th350 but i need to put the 4x4 shaft in it. Is it hard to do a rebuild on that trany. That is one thing i've never done. Should i do a full rebuild? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, Unless it's in really good shape, you probably should do a rebuild ,cause you have to strip to the back of the case to install the short output shalf anyway. These are reasonably easy to do.
Good Luck,Brian

That's what i was thanking. ok now, there are so many kits out there. What should i use? just a rebuild or a master kit. I've done pretty much everything but a auto trans. And are there any special tools i will need? Do you thank i should get one of those books or a dvd for help? I see a lot of them on e-bay. Thanks for all your help. Jay

Hi Jay, I'd get a good quality kit,you only want to do this once, also maybe pick up a book, dvd would be ok also. The only special tool you will need would be a compressor to compress the clutch pack pistons. It sounds like you will be off-roading with this,so you can shim up your packs for a tighter clearance,(less slipage when shifting).
