hydraulic clutch
Does the size of the line (3/16 or 1/4) connecting the clutch MC to the clutch external slave (using mechanical TOB not hydraulic TOB) effect the stroke of the slave?
Everything I read says the bore sizes of the two cylinders is what determines slave stroke length but - a manufacturer's tech told me the line size will effect the slave stroke length and I can't find any info on that.

I ran 3/16 line, just like a regular brake system. No problems in years of use. One of our engineering guys on here will probably have more definitive info on hydraulic compression ratios, etc, so we'll see if my shade tree approach holds water. (or in this case brake fluid )

The manufacturer's tech is ill advised. You are correct that the size of the bore of the cylinders and the stroke of the master will determine the stroke of the slave. A larger or smaller line will speed up or slow down the reaction time between the two cylinders, but not so that you could see it on a stopwatch and it certainly won't change the stroke of the slave.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

Thankyou tech. You also answered, what was going to be, my next question.
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
