    Universal TH 350?

I was just cleaning up around the transmission that I just fixed and getting it ready to go back into the K5 when I noticed for the 1st that there are alot of bolt holes in the bell housing. Only 6 bolt to my 400sbc, is this for big block apps to or something?

4L60 or more commonly referred to as the 700r4 has a Chevy bolt pattern only.
    It doesn't come in universal.

It also comes in a 60* version for engines such as the small V-6's and 4 cylinders.

    GM Bellhousing Bolt Patterns

A 200-4r would need to be used for BOP engines.

That's right. The 3.1L mentioned would be a 60*. Finding a 700r4 for that would be tough. Not too common.

Thanks Pat. I read it backwards.

A V-8 cannot bolt up to your 4L60 from the 3.1.
It will have the 60* bolt hole pattern.

700 r4 is available with the tailstock for the torque arm.

No no no, oh God. The 4L60 was a different question because you said the TH350 will fit all V8 and V6 so I was thinking that sence a 4L60 is made for V8 too as well as V6 that I could bolt a V8 to my Camaro. Seeing now that there are different 4L60 bell housings I see that it wont work. sorry for the confussion
