Is there a port or opening in TH 350 Transmission where I can check transmission for correct transmission fluid level. New transmission and new aftermarket dipstick and dipstick tube can be cut to any length but I do not know correct length for tube or dipstick.
Another way to ask same question; before I install in the transmission, with dipstick inserted completely into dipstick tube, what is the measurement from the tube flange that seats against transmission case to the end of dipstick? This measurement should be constant for all TH350s regardless of how much tube or stick is external to the transmission.

I can't answer that but I know when the engine is stopped the fluid comes up into the tube as the converter drains back. I think you could answer your own question by looking up the capacity of the trans and putting that in the trans. run it and then check the level and mark your stick.

I don't think it's going to be that easy to get it marked exactly at capacity because you need the capacity of the tranny & converter (published data) plus the capacity of the cooler and the lines to and from the cooler. Maybe "borrow" a stock dipstick & tube, set your warm, running level according to the OEM "Full" mark, and then swap your aftermarket tube & stick and trim accordingly? Just thinking here....
