    Trans cooler location

My 66 Charger was installed with a trans cooler that he mounted on the grill in front of the radiator which I feel is restricting some air flow. Is there some place else you guys could suggest in puttting it so I won't have this problem?

I'm not familiar with the grill and radiator layout in your Charger. Is there a horizontal panel at the base of the radiator that runs forward toward the grill? If so, can you cut a cooler sized hole in it and fit the cooler into it? Once completed this would have the cooler laying flat below and in front of the radiator. If you do this you may need an auxilary fan for the cooler as there would be minimal air flow through it at low speeds. At highway speeds ram effect would push air through it. I've seen a couple applications done this way on cars that have space between the radiator and the grill and it worked slick.

I hope my description is understandable

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Could be some other problem......I've had over 5 cars with trans cooler mounted in front of the radiator........never a problem.........you can also tilt the cooler dwnwards a little bit and air will flow thru and around it to the radiator...if you can take thermal readings at different spots on the radiator.....that might tell you if it is running hotter where the cooler blocks the air flow.?? just a thought

Thanks guys, I looked it over and it appears that keeping it off center in the front will be my best option without having to do any major modification. Haven't had any issues really, it was just a thought as to where I could relocate it if needed.

And Streets, you are one crazy Mofo.
